For my project I wanted to portray the quirkiness and fun of comic books in a visually arresting way. The comic book aesthetic alludes to the grawlixes conception. The term grawlix was coined by Mort Walker who was a very successful cartoonist. It is a term to describe how cartoonists illustrate swearing in their strips. The use of bright colour and half tone pattern are my main strategies of achieving the comic book feel. I also used skewing of text to an angle commonly used in comics for powerful statements. I chose a thick sans serif type face to add punch and further reference to text used in comic strips. The pattern used to fill the word F%#! again I tried to make it look like it was straight out of a comic
