Fly: Branding Ageny: Fly CD: Johnson McKay Design Direction: Johnson McKay, Tanmay Desai Artwork: Shane Hansen Design: Tanmay Desai Fly is a cutting edge creative studio that's located in the heart of Ponsonby, Auckland. It's a boutique agency that marries big picture creative strategy with excellent creative execution. They love collaborating with specialist local artists, illustrators and designers to create cutting edge unique aesthetics. My task was to use the specially created artwork by former Fly CD Shane Hansen (now a contemporary NZ artist) as the basis for crafting a completely new brand. Shane’s artwork entitled “Movements” captures two central themes in the Fly brand. The verb of “fly” and the central importance of family. The verb of fly is an idea that disrupts traditional thinking, moves emotions, spreads spontaneously and wins popular acceptance.
